Preventive Maintenance Tips for Garage Doors

Like any mechanical component of your house, it’s important to take good care of your garage doors to make sure they operate smoothly year in and year out. Here are a few important tips:

  • Lubricate moving parts: Spraying the overhead springs and rollers with a lubricant once a year can ensure your doors don’t get stuck.
  • Keep the tracks and lasers clear: With the amount of movement in and out of garages, debris such as leaves, mud, and garbage can build up quick and interfere with tracks or lasers. Make sure to sweep or wipe away debris.
  • Pay attention to sights and sounds: Does the door look misaligned? Does something rattle or shake? It’s important to recognize an issue before it happens so you can fix it quick or contact our maintenance professionals before it gets worse.
